CODEL is looking for an Embedded(firmware) Software Engineer who will be at the heart of our product development process, contributing to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of embedded systems and firmware. As the CODEL office is in Bakewell any applicant for this role must have their own transport.
 
CODEL International is a company specialising in the design, manufacturing, and installation of emissions monitoring systems, particularly Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS). With more than 40 years of experience, CODEL provides advanced monitoring solutions for industrial emissions, air quality, tunnel environments, and process control. CODEL’s product range includes dust, gas, and flow monitors, with over 20,000 units supplied globally.

Qualifications


CODEL is looking for an Embedded(firmware) Software Engineer who will be at the heart of our product development process, contributing to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of embedded systems and firmware.

  • Education: Currently studying for a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ programming, with a basic understanding of embedded software development.
  • Microcontroller Knowledge: Familiarity with microcontrollers like PIC, ARM, or similar platforms.
  • Technical Enthusiasm: A strong interest in embedded systems and a desire to learn and grow in this exciting field.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically and solve complex technical problems.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in your work, particularly in coding and documentation.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop Embedded Software: Work on real projects, developing and optimizing firmware for a variety of electronic devices.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Partner with hardware engineers, software developers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware.
  • Support Product Development: Participate in the entire product lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing, including rigorous testing and validation.
  • Document Your Work: Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including software specifications and user manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and Innovate: Help diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
