The candidate selected will be appointed as a teaching assistant and will be charged with providing support with the coordination of our forthcoming events - Conference on white-collar crime 5 Dec 2024 (online and in person); Roundtable on modern slavery and human trafficking on 3 June 2025 (online) etc – and oversee our forthcoming publications (book and special issue).
Candidate and Skills Requirements:
The candidate will assist with organising and managing projects and conferences; timetabling, coordinating and chairing meetings; authoring reports; overseeing publications by liaising inter alia with publishers, authors and reviewers, ensuring the quality of the work produced and adherence to a tight schedule.
The candidate will assist with:
- the meet and greet on the day of the conference
- event organisation, publicity and administration (this includes liaising with different departments and external organisations)
- publication projects (liaising with editors, reviewers and authors; reviewing work; editing citations; and copyediting)
- other essential tasks linked to these assignments
Essential skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent citation skills (ability to use OSCOLA citation rules desirable)
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of social media
Desirable
- Experience organising and managing in person events/conferences
- Publicity and PR experience
- Ability to promote events etc using social media
- Preparing publicity and press release
Other Information:
Pay Rate : £16.49 per hour
Working Hours: 40 hours (roughly one day a week during term time)
Length of Contract: November 2024-Sept 2025
