At Think Ocean CIC, we address plastic pollution through a multifaceted approach that includes education, technology development, and circular economy initiatives that empower individuals and communities. In this way we create a foundation for effective environmental stewardship. Addressing immediate human needs enables people to participate actively in conservation efforts, leading to healthier rivers and, ultimately, a healthier planet.
Rivers are the lifeblood of our planet, sustaining both communities and ecosystems. However, they are increasingly threatened by pollution, especially plastic waste. We believe that protecting our rivers starts with uplifting people, because individuals can only take action when their basic needs are met.
We are working on different areas, projects and organisations in several countries and we need to show this.
From being members of the European Commission Horizon Mission building a 50ft long vessel to stop the inland plastic in rivers before it reaches the ocean, to our fight against fast fashion, taking over the sustainable segment at the London Fashion Week. Coral reef restoration in Bali, clean ups in India, Bali, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Pakistan, Spain and an Ocean School in Chile.
We partnering or we are closely working with the House of Lords on education projects, Simon Cowell on live TV events, Normal Cook on outreach through music to the African Leadership Organisation for community empowerment, the prime Minister of the Bahamas creating ocean schools, and many many other interesting thing we do and people around us but we are not showing it.
But really what make us different is that we don’t speak much. We don’t waste time talking. We are doing things. Important things and will be up to you if the public knows about it.
What they are looking for:
· Excellent marketing and social media skills on various platforms. (We are very interested in Tik-Tok platform, which we don’t have).
· Keen interest in environment, plastic pollution and the need of impact campaigns to save our planet
· New, innovative ideas to raise awareness of Think Ocean work
· A hands-on approach and enthusiasm to get involved in the task at hand
· A professional individual with good communication skills
· We need a spark. Not a person just good at facebook. We need a person with the capacity to wow the public, working alone or together with our PR company generating new marketing ideas and campaigns
What you will be doing:
· You will be Think Ocean social media manager. You are the boss. Everything that will go online or to the public eye around the world will come from you!
· Taking the lead with the development of a long-term marketing and social media campaign
· Actively creating, writing and scheduling posts for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, X (previously called Twitter)
· Running competitions via various social media platforms
· Taking and editing photos for use on social media and website
· Conducting market research and identifying potential business opportunities
· In a nutshell, you will be the person responsible for think ocean online success!

Rate of Pay : £12.37 per hour
Duration: 12 weeks to start, for 6 hours a week
Suitable for: Student and graduate with an interest in environment, plastic pollution, recycling and marketing
Eligibility: Undergraduate, Postgraduate students and recent graduates (for up to 2 years post-graduation) are all eligible to apply.
