About the role:
The Derby Talent Programme (DTP) is an internship scheme for University of Derby students and graduates, creating paid full or part-time opportunities with external organisations. Our students and graduates have high-level skills, fresh thinking, and huge potential. By offering them work opportunities, external organisations can bring new skills into their business, help them develop, and build their talent pipeline.

The Careers and Employability Service (CES) manage the DTP and we will be launching a cohort of paid, 80hr internship roles to students at the end of February. CES are looking for a student or graduate intern to support with administrative tasks associated with this internship launch.

What we are looking for:
• Attention to detail to ensure information is accurately transcribed
• Proactive and self-motivated with a results-driven approach
• Ability to represent the CES service and University, externally
• Proficiency in working with standard IT applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, as well as the ability to learn in-house systems
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Understanding of employability attributes and skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passionate about helping students and contributing to their career development

What you will be doing:
• Supporting the Talent Development Officers within the Derby Talent Team
• Preparing applications from shortlisted candidates to send to employers
• Arranging interviews and liaising with employers
• Providing written and verbal feedback to candidates
• Data Entry – updating our internal database (Careerhub) on the interview outcomes
• Supporting unsuccessful candidates with further support and guidance available from the CES

Pay Rate : £12.37 per hour
Duration: 80 hours part time, ideally 16hrs a week over a 5-week period, starting March until the Easter break. Flexible hours to suit lectures and seminars.
Working Locations: Onsite at the University (Kedleston Road). Not Wednesdays.
Start Date: Week commencing 3rd March 2025
Suitable for: Students and graduates with an interest in Business and Administrative Support roles
